Is it safe to consume supplements like Whey Protein, Creatine and Fat Burners

I received a question on my YouTube Channel which is – “Is it safe to consume supplements like Whey Protein, Creatine and Fat Burners if we are exercising regularly”

Ok so here is my take on these supplements –

1. Whey Protein Shake – I have been consuming protein shakes off and on for last 10 years and till date i haven’t had any sort issues with it, infact if you goal is to lose body fat then it is important that you need to consume adequate amount of protein intake because protein helps build lean muscle tissue which further enhances metabolism. Now this protein intake can come from natural source like eggs, chicken, fish etc. or from a protein shake,the idea is to consume adequate amount of protein on regular basis which will help lose body fat. If you find it easier to have a protein shake then go ahead with it however personally i find natural sources of protein far more effective for fat loss.

2. Creatine – is ATP i.e. Adenosine Tri Phosphate which is produced naturally in the body, supplementing with creatine will help increase strength and bulk up quickly. The only down side to creatine is that most of the weight gained is water weight and it causes water retention. I have personally used creatine just once and because it creates a lot of water retention i don’t use it as it hides my definition and makes my body look puffy. As far as safety of creatine goes, i have read that it may put some pressure on kidneys but barring that i haven’t heard anything however you should do your own study before you consume creatine.

3. Fat Burners – If you already following a healthy eating pattern and exercising regularly then there is no need to consume fat burners, with regular workout and diet you will lose body fat anyway. Plus the moment you go off fat burners most of the weight loss achieved by fat burners will come back quickly,so i don’t recommend fat burners.

Overall supplements can help achieve your fitness goal provided you are following a healthy eating pattern and exercising regularly.
