Deadlift and Shrugs  is one the best multi joint exercise that you can do to lose weight and lose body fat quickly.

The reason why this exercise is effective because its metabolically a taxing exercise and it helps you burns tons of calories with just few repetitions.

Deadlift helps focus on all your lower body muscles like hamstring, calf, glutes and lower back while shrugs helps to workout upper body muscles especially traps and it’s the combination of both these exercise which makes it super effective for fat loss It’s also an extremely effective to enhance your fitness levels as it helps gain strength, endurance and coordination in the muscles which are involved in performing this exercise.

So an extremely effective exercise but its important that you need to perform this exercise correctly and let me show you how -

You start this exercise by keeping your feet shoulder-width apart and hands outside the thighs.

Bend at hip joint and lower the barbell till your upper back is parallel to the floor, extend your hips and reverse the movement till the weight reaches to your upper thigh.

From here raise your shoulders as much as you can finishing off the movement with a barbell shrug

Important points to keep in mind while performing this exercise -

1. Keep your back flat while doing deadlift, do not round your spine while performing this exercise or else chances of lower back injury are extremely high.

2. Considering it’s a two part movement you need to ensure that you get the breathing pattern right,so when you are doing a deadlift you need to breathe in when you are going down and breathe out when you are coming up and then for shrugs you need to breathe out when you are pulling the weight up and breathe in when the weight is coming down.

3. Always perform a thorough warm up before you start this exercise or any other exercise which will help prevent injury. Trust me on the this if you get an injury once it can last you a life time so pls do not avoid warm ups before you start your exercise routine .
