Chocolates and Calorie Count

Chocolates and Calorie Count

This is for all chocolate lovers including some people in my family who consume chocolates daily, if your goal is weight loss regular consumption of chocolates is not a good idea and here are some reasons –

1. Chocolates make you gain weight and body fat – Chocolates are extremely high in calorie count, even as less as 100 grams of any chocolate variety contains 500 – 600 calories. That’s a lot of calories for one bar of chocolates as anyone can gobble down 100 grams of chocolate in one go,now if you eat as less three chocolates in one week then you have easily consumed 1800 calories. Now do the same calculation over a period of one month 1800 x 4 = 7200 calories which is equivalent to approximately one kg of body fat (One kg of fat = 7700 calories)…Still ok i guess but now do this calculation over a period of one year 7200 X 12 = 86,400 calories which equates to 11 -12 kgs of body fat, worst part is that all these calories are coming from sugar and fat which anyways have serious health consequences..

2. Chocolates may increase LDL – High amount of empty calories make you gain weight ,when your weight goes up even your LDL a.k.a bad cholesterol also goes up which increases your chances of cardio vascular disease,so consuming anything high in sugar and fat is not such good idea from a health perspective.

3. Are Dark Chocolates an alternative – Now some people may argue and say if you are worried about health then don’t have regular milk chocolates but consume dark chocolates which are high in fibre and flavonoids but the fact is they are still high in calories and will make you gain weight or body fat.

Now don’t get me wrong here,i am not against chocolates, all i am saying is if your goal is to stay healthy, lose weight and lose belly fat then consuming chocolates on regular basis is not a good idea.
