Health Benefits of Strength Training
Strength training or Weight Training is one the best ways of training to enhance your overall fitness, sculpt your body and provide various health benefits. Contrary to the popular belief weight training does not make you big and freaky like bodybuilders who consume tons of anabolic steroids to build muscle and get big , so as long as you are not using anabolic steroids weight training or strength training cannot make you look like them.
Strength training provides various health benefits, some of them are —
1. Strength training helps you strengthen your skeletal system that means stronger bones, joints and connective tissue. Studies indicate that doing strength training regularly can help increase bone density thereby reducing the risk of fracture in weaker bones. People who suffer from arthritis and osteoporosis can greatly benefit from doing strength training/weight training regularly.
2. Strength training helps you to lose body fat, now keep in mind that strength training is fastest way of building lean muscle tissue. Lean muscle tissue enhances your fat loss process as it is metabolically an active tissue that means muscle in order to survive itself in the body has to keep on burning calories…so more lean muscle tissue you gain faster will be your metabolic rate.
3. Strength training not only helps to strengthen muscle outside the body but even inside the body like your cardiac muscle. As per American heart association performing strength training regularly can greatly increase efficiency of your cardiac muscles.
In conclusion — With so many health benefits everyone should include strength training into their routine especially people who are above 30 years .
